Technical Specialist - Seating - Climate Systems (Automotive): Leading the design, development, and integration of seat climate and comfort systems across vehicle programs with an accent on heating, ventilation, and cooling systems. Location: Hybrid (Warren, Michigan). Must be based in or able to work on-site at the Warren Tech Center at least three days per week.

What you will do

• Lead the development and integration of seat climate systems, including heating, ventilation, cooling, lumbar, and cushion suspension.
• Drive technical execution across vehicle programs with a focus on quality, timing, and performance.
• Oversee safety and compliance activities, including field action analysis and product safety investigations.
• Develop and execute BOM row strategies and integrate electrical control units and wire harnesses into the vehicle electrical system.
• Create and maintain core engineering assets such as DFMEAs, design checklists, and technical requirements.
• Provide technical leadership on tradeoffs involving comfort, crashworthiness, cost, and mass.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of post-graduation engineering experience.
• Experience with seat-to-vehicle and internal packaging and engineering.
• Demonstrated success in developing lumbar and cushion suspension systems.
• Experience with electronic modules and wire harness routing.
• Must not require immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering or 8+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience supporting seat assembly plant and vehicle assembly plant launches.
• Knowledge of global seating regulations and industry requirements.
• Experience working with automotive OEMs and seat suppliers.
• Proficiency with DFMEA, PFMEA, DFSS, Red X, DOORs, and LIN communications.
