Location: Onsite in Milford or Warren, Michigan. Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) and eligible to obtain a security clearance.

What you will do
- Lead and mentor a wide-scoped design team, providing daily direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Manage workload prioritization and balancing to ensure all program milestones and design deliverables are met.
- Drive innovative design solutions specifically tailored for low-volume manufacturing environments.
- Collaborate with Chief Engineers, Architecture System Engineers, and Suppliers to deliver cohesive vehicle design from concept to build.
- Develop and improve design processes, standards, and operational plans to support business strategies.
- Identify and remove technical roadblocks, resolving complex problems under aggressive timelines and ambiguity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Design Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of post-graduation experience in design, engineering, manufacturing, and leadership, preferably with complex vehicle systems.
- Proven experience leading design or engineering teams in a cross-functional environment.
- Expertise in complete vehicle design within tight packaging and performance constraints.
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee) and eligible for security clearance.
- No immigration sponsorship available (e.g., H1-B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, J-1).
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Press Brake / fixtureless bending and component fabrication methods.
- Experience with armor system designs and survivability-driven solutions.
- Proficiency with NX, TeamCenter, and Vehicle Architecture System (VAS).
- Experience with CAE, 3D Scanning, and analysis-driven design tools.
- Experience working with prototype and low-volume fabrication shops.
