TL;DR

Service Transition Lead (ITSM): Ensuring new IT services are transitioned into live operation with an accent on service readiness, support models, and stakeholder alignment. Focus on coordinating between project teams and operations to ensure a controlled and secure go-live for digital transformation and AI initiatives.

Location: Hybrid (Manchester, UK) - minimum 2 days per week in the office

Salary: £54,300 – £60,700

What you will do

  • Lead service transition across IT projects, ensuring services are ready and supportable at go-live.
  • Define and secure service acceptance criteria and conduct readiness checkpoints.
  • Coordinate between project delivery and operational teams (Enterprise Technology) to ensure seamless handovers.
  • Manage service-related documentation and provide recommendations for early-life support.
  • Review project risk logs to identify and mitigate service-related risks before operational handover.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and maturity of the Service Transition function and project delivery framework.

Requirements

  • ITIL Foundation certification is essential (Practitioner or higher preferred).
  • Proven experience in service transition, service management, or IT project delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills to influence and negotiate.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and complex transitions in IT environments.
  • Must be based in or able to commute to Manchester for hybrid work (min 2 days/week).

Nice to have

  • PRINCE2, Agile, or other recognized project management certifications.
  • Experience in large-scale IT environments or regulated sectors such as the public sector or finance.
