Salary: $5,365.42 - $7,709.92 CAD Monthly

What you will do
- Plan, organize, and execute events from small lectures to large conferences supporting departmental strategic goals.
- Develop event frameworks, plans, and communication strategies in collaboration with faculty, staff, and partners.
- Manage venues, negotiate contracts for catering and services, and handle budgets and revenues.
- Coordinate virtual/hybrid events including registration, speakers, interpretation, and post-event reporting.
- Partner on alumni engagement events and represent department on committees.
- Liaise with speakers, volunteers, and senior academics for recruitment and event facilitation.
Requirements
- Two-year diploma in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Tourism, or Event Management.
- Minimum two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency in standard office software (Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, Google Docs) at intermediate level.
- Knowledge of video conferencing and collaboration platforms (e.g., MS Teams).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and conflict resolution skills.
Nice to have
- Experience in event planning, budget development, forecasting, and reporting.
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
- Knowledge of university environment, policies, and protocols.
- Excellent public relations skills and ability to work independently or in teams.
