Salary: CA$110,000 – CA$150,000

What you will do
- Support core finance and business operations, including payroll coordination, AP workflows, budgeting, and reporting.
- Coordinate people operations such as onboarding/offboarding, benefits administration, and performance review cycles.
- Manage operational compliance, insurance renewals, and vendor coordination.
- Own relationships with external fractional partners and contractors to ensure operational continuity.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to one direct report.
- Collaborate with leadership on operational planning and identify gaps to improve internal workflows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in business, finance, or people operations within a startup environment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple shifting priorities.
- Proven experience supporting remote-first organizations.
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
- High attention to detail and comfort making independent decisions in ambiguous situations.
- Must be based in Canada
Nice to have
- Familiarity with SaaS business operations and recurring revenue models.
- Experience with HRIS/payroll systems and compliance workflows.
- Experience supporting executive leadership teams.
- Proficiency with tools like Rippling, Carta, Google Workspace, Slack, Salesforce, or Xero.
