Lead Software Engineer (Microsoft Stack)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid working, with the approach set by the team.

What you will do

• Lead the delivery and maintenance of applications and integrations supporting Group Functions and Business Units.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership through proofs of concept, technical spikes, and advisory work.
• Define software development lifecycle practices, engineering standards, design patterns, and quality practices covering code review, CI/CD, release, and change management.
• Set expectations for production ownership, reliability, observability, incident management, support, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Solution Architecture, Information Security, Data Engineering, Product Owners, change teams, vendors, and engineering partners to shape roadmaps and technical direction.
• Manage, coach, mentor, and develop engineers while driving technical capability, knowledge sharing, and inclusive collaboration.

Requirements

• Experience delivering complex, production-grade software solutions and working across requirements, build, testing, DevOps, and deployment.
• Ability to architect, design, build, and run robust solutions while influencing stakeholders and translating technical concepts into actionable plans.
• Strong Microsoft stack knowledge, including Angular, .NET Core, SQL Server, or serverless technologies.
• Working knowledge of Azure, GCP, or AWS cloud platforms.
• Experience mentoring engineers, raising technical standards, and working in Agile teams across engineering, product, and business functions.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup based in Lisbon, Portugal.
