Engineering Manager (iGaming)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal. Hybrid working model with the possibility to work remotely up to 50% of the working time.

What you will do

• Lead one product engineering team and create the conditions for high-quality, customer-focused work.
• Combine hands-on software engineering with people leadership, coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
• Help the team deliver customer experience and business value in short cycles.
• Foster experimentation, ownership, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.
• Support pragmatic engineering practices and the responsible adoption of automation and AI-assisted tools.
• Work closely with Product to align engineering decisions with customer outcomes rather than delivery alone.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with the ability to remain hands-on for approximately 30–50% of the role.
• Experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or senior engineer with demonstrable people leadership impact.
• Strong focus on engineering quality, maintainability, testing, performance, and security.
• Ability to lead through coaching, feedback, and mentoring while balancing autonomy and alignment.
• Comfort working with short feedback loops, experimentation, and rapid learning.
