Technical Architect (Infrastructure)

TL;DR

Technical Architect (Infrastructure): Designing and delivering mission-critical IT solutions for public services with an accent on Windows server/client architecture and virtualization. Location: Must be based in the UK and eligible for SC and NPPV clearance (requires living in the UK for at least 5 consecutive years)

What you will do

• Collaborate with Solution Architects to develop and realize proof of concept solutions.
• Design and deliver mission-critical solutions, producing detailed technical documentation according to company standards.
• Perform product evaluations and report on suitability for live operational use.
• Manage technical tasks and triage engineering work using Azure DevOps.
• Provide technical consultancy and support to engineering delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Plan technical migrations and ensure comprehensive documentation for support handover.

Requirements

• Must have lived in the UK for at least 5 consecutive years to be eligible for SC and NPPV clearance.
• Pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Technical Architect or comparable role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows client & server architecture (up to Server 2025) and DELL hardware.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and virtualization (Hyper-V or VmWare).
• Proven experience in requirements capture and producing technical design documentation.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in TOGAF or other formal design methodologies.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure solution design, deployment, or security.
• Scripting skills in PowerShell, Batch, or MySQL.
• Knowledge of SIP protocol and telephony systems (Cisco, Avaya, Mitel, etc.).
• Experience with Hyper-V Failover Clustering.
