Legal Counsel (Fintech)

What you will do

• Lead negotiation, drafting, and execution of complex commercial agreements focused on SaaS, cloud, data processing, security, and market data licensing.
• Provide senior-level legal counsel to executives on market data regulation, IP, disputes, data protection, cybersecurity, commercial risk, and regulatory exposure.
• Act as key advisor on market data usage, licensing compliance, and exchange/vendor agreements.
• Own vendor legal governance, including contract status, liability, risk mitigation, and performance obligations.
• Partner with Security, Engineering, Product, Compliance, and HR on platform security, data protection, and incident response.
• Lead IP strategy for protection, enforcement, dispute resolution, and commercialization globally.
• Manage contentious matters, disputes, regulatory inquiries, and coordinate with external counsel.
• Design and scale legal processes, contract management, policies, and training for efficiency and risk management.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of PQE with strong experience in commercial technology, market data, IP, disputes, data protection, and vendor contracting.
• Proven experience supporting global technology, fintech, or SaaS business; exposure to regulated environments and market data providers advantageous.
• Deep expertise in negotiating complex commercial, technology, SaaS, cloud, data processing, and market data licensing agreements.
• Demonstrated knowledge of IP strategy, protection, licensing, and handling IP disputes.
• Experience managing disputes, litigation, or regulatory investigations.
• Solid understanding of data protection, privacy, cybersecurity (including GDPR), and cross-border data issues.
• High independence, sound judgement, stakeholder management, and ability to operate in fast-paced environment.

• Experience in finance or trading domain.
• Familiarity with hirify.global as a product.
• Private practice and/or in-house experience in financial services.
• Experience interpreting complex regulations in foreign jurisdictions.
• Prior work with market data vendors, exchanges, or fintech regulatory matters.
