Project Manager

TL;DR

Project Manager (Naval Nuclear Simulators): Managing complex technical projects for developing advanced simulation training tools for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program with an accent on work planning, cost estimating, schedule development, risk identification, and subtier supplier oversight. Focus on monitoring progress, interfacing with stakeholders across organizations, resolving challenges, and ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.

Location: Onsite in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, United States. US citizenship required. DOE L Clearance (or DOD equivalent) required. Periodic travel to other NNPP and subtier supplier sites.

What you will do

• Support project planning including scope definition, functional requirements, cost estimating, schedule/budget development, and risk identification.
• Manage solicitation, placement, oversight, and follow-up of subtier supplier contracts.
• Monitor project progress against plans, initiate corrective actions for variances, and execute schedule/budget resources.
• Interface with internal/external stakeholders including NNL, BPMI, Naval Reactors.
• Identify/implement solutions to resolve challenges and minimize impacts.
• Ensure project results meet scope, schedule, cost, and technical quality requirements across phases from planning to delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from accredited college/university.
• Minimum 6 years relevant experience.
• US citizenship required due to government contract/clearance.
• Program/project management experience in technical business.
• Experience managing complex technical projects.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, team building, communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with new project startup, technical writing, cost estimating, subtier supplier oversight.
• Working with engineers on scope/schedules.
• Defining/managing project infrastructure (plans, resources, risk, change control, reporting).
• Primavera P6 proficiency.
• Project Management Professional Certification.
