TL;DR
Network Engineer: Documenting and supporting USSS network infrastructure including device configurations, routing, and protocols with an accent on maintenance, troubleshooting, and modernization. Focus on designing secure networks, providing tier-3/4 support, and managing IT refreshes for high uptime and mission-critical operations.
Place of Performance: USSS Headquarters and occasionally at other USSS facilities located within the Washington D.C. Metro area. Minimum an Active Secret Clearance and must be clearable for Top Secret.

What you will do
- Document current USSS infrastructure including device configurations, routing specifications, protocols, and procedural checklists.
- Provide network technical support, maintenance, and tier-3/4 troubleshooting with after-hours and weekend availability.
- Participate in network IT refresh, modernization, and engineering meetings with peers, cybersecurity, and government customers.
- Develop standard operating procedures, technical documentation, after-action reports, and maintain ticketing logs.
- Support innovation lab, schedule deployments, refreshes, test new gear, and coordinate with government for shipping and turn-up.
- Enhance network services for high uptime, deliver expertise in upgrades, integrations, and secure system design.
Requirements
- Active Secret Clearance, clearable for Top Secret.
- 15+ years in network engineering, troubleshooting, and technical support in secure environments.
- 15+ years in project planning, change management, system design, and outage analysis.
- 10+ years with FISMA/NIST standards, LAN/WAN/MAN/load balancing/wireless, diagnostic tools, Verizon/AT&T MPLS.
- 5+ years specialized experience with Juniper, Riverbed, F5, Nutanix.
- Expertise in SDN, hyperconverged networks, technical writing, and communications.
