Tier II Network Specialist

TL;DR

Tier II Network Specialist (SD-WAN/WAN): Providing advanced operational support and troubleshooting for enterprise transport services and SD-WAN infrastructure with an accent on network reliability, performance, and controlled configuration changes. Focus on isolating complex outages, managing application-aware routing and security policies, coordinating with telecommunications carriers, and supporting Tier 3 engineering investigations.

Location: Suffolk, Virginia, United States; onsite role. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States, able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance, and must not require visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Provide Tier 2 escalation support for enterprise transport and SD-WAN incidents.
• Diagnose network outages and performance degradation across WAN and SD-WAN links.
• Configure and maintain SD-WAN routing, traffic shaping, security policies, and related network devices.
• Coordinate with telecommunications carriers and service providers to resolve circuit issues and dispatch field technicians.
• Monitor network availability, utilization, and performance trends using network management tools.
• Document infrastructure, configurations, circuit information, troubleshooting actions, and approved changes.

Requirements

• Active Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required.
• U.S. work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is unavailable.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network operations or network engineering.
• Experience with WAN and LAN technologies, routing protocols, switching, carrier transport services, and telecommunications providers.
• At least 2 years of direct SD-WAN experience, including provisioning, policy creation, and troubleshooting.
• CCNA, CCNP, SD-WAN certification, or CompTIA Network+ certification.
