TL;DR
NOC Engineer (Network Operations): Monitoring and troubleshooting IP, transmission, xWDM, and underlying fiber infrastructure for a global Internet backbone with an accent on incident ownership, fault management, and service restoration. Focus on resolving outages at first line, coordinating providers and internal teams, tracking SLAs, and preparing root cause and outage reports.
Location: Buenos Aires, Argentina; hybrid workplace.

What you will do
- Monitor IP and transmission platforms, including xWDM, sites, and owned or leased fiber infrastructure.
- Investigate alarms, faults, and outages, resolving incidents at first line whenever possible.
- Own incidents through resolution and service restoration, coordinating internal teams and third-party providers.
- Document incidents, prepare root cause analyses and outage reports, and maintain clear technical reporting.
- Track SLA commitments and coordinate communications during major incidents, planned maintenance, and outages.
- Configure and improve NOC monitoring tools and operational processes.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience in a NOC or similar network operations environment.
- Strong network troubleshooting skills across IP and/or transmission platforms.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, QoS, and xWDM technologies.
- CCNP Enterprise-level knowledge for IP-focused roles or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with network monitoring, incident handling, fault management, and Linux or Windows environments.
- Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and time-critical decision-making skills.
Nice to have
- Scripting experience with Python or Bash.
- Telecom industry background.
- Experience configuring or improving NOC monitoring tools.
- Experience working in an international environment.
