Hardware Engineer (Automotive)

TL;DR

Hardware Engineer (Automotive Infotainment): Development, validation, and testing of analog and digital functional blocks for automotive infotainment computing systems, cockpit domain controllers, and ADAS ECUs with an accent on power supply, MCU/SoC units, and complex hardware architectures. Focus on signal and power integrity simulations, layout reviews, prototype bring-up, EMC/thermal measurements, and ensuring ISO26262 functional safety compliance.

Location: Bucharest, Romania (flexible hybrid: office and remote). Willingness to travel up to 20%.

What you will do

• Develop, test, and verify analog/digital functional blocks like power supplies and MCU/SoC units in complex hardware architectures.
• Create system designs, schematics, and integrate hardware per hirify.global guidelines.
• Review layouts, perform signal/power integrity simulations, and guide prototyping and debugging.
• Conduct technical measurements (EMC, thermal, functional) and specify requirements for parts/suppliers.
• Analyze customer requirements, prepare documentation, handle redesigns, and collaborate globally with HW, SW, mechanical, and quality teams.
• Provide maintenance for legacy projects and review designs for functional safety (ISO26262).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
• 5+ years in HW development and verification of analog/digital applications.
• Knowledge of schematic/layout tools (Mentor Graphics), simulations (SPICE, Ansys), and Microsoft apps.
• Good understanding of automotive requirements, especially EMC; experience with infotainment interfaces (PCIe, UART, I2C, USB, etc.).
• Hardware debugging and lab tools experience.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Proactivity, structured communication, problem-solving.
