TL;DR
Software Sales Engineer (SaaS): Supporting technical selling efforts for the Ultrus Software Platform with an accent on technical qualification, product demonstrations, and customer value alignment. Focus on shaping deal strategy, driving technical consensus among stakeholders, and mentoring junior team members.
Location: Hybrid (3 days/week in office). Must be based near a UL office in the United States (locations include IL, NJ, FL, CO, NY, GA, TX, CA).
Salary: Base $105,000 - $125,000 USD; OTE $149,000 - $177,500 USD.

What you will do
- Lead technical discovery to align software solution capabilities with customer business drivers.
- Deliver tailored product demonstrations focused on business outcomes, ROI, and competitive differentiation.
- Partner with sales executives to define opportunity strategy, qualification, and close plans.
- Own technical portions of proposals, pricing inputs, and customer value narratives.
- Provide competitive insights and positioning strategies to Sales leadership.
- Mentor entry-level team members and contribute to demo scripts, playbooks, and GTM initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree.
- 6+ years of related experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM software, and Demo Platform Software.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Must be local to a UL office to comply with the hybrid 3-day-a-week onsite requirement.
Nice to have
- Experience in chemical data management and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with WERCS Studio or similar application suites.
- Technical capabilities in software engineering and design architecture.
- Experience with MEDDIC, Command of the Message, or similar sales methodologies.
