TL;DR

Technical Sales Specialist (Microgrid Software): Driving growth of the HOMER software portfolio by engaging engineering firms and utilities with an accent on consultative B2B selling and technical solution architecture. Focus on lead generation, performing software demonstrations, and closing high-value deals in the distributed energy sector.

Location: Fully remote or hybrid (3 days/week) from any hirify.global office in the United States. Offices also listed in Latham, NY and Toronto, ON.

Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 + annual target incentive of 55% of base salary.

What you will do

  • Proactively generate new B2B leads through outreach, networking, and industry engagement.
  • Deliver HOMER software demonstrations, guiding prospects through relevant workflows and value propositions.
  • Own the full B2B sales lifecycle from lead qualification and technical scoping to negotiation and closing.
  • Represent the company as a speaker or panelist at industry conferences, webinars, and workshops.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to refine messaging and contribute to product strategy based on client feedback.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of B2B related software sales experience.
  • Strong technical background in microgrids, distributed energy resources, or energy management systems.
  • Proven ability to manage sales pipelines and execute consultative sales strategies.
  • Experience delivering professional technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, renewable energy, power systems, or a related technical field.
  • Strong English proficiency is a must.
