TL;DR

Underwriter II (Workers Comp): Review workers compensation applications, evaluate risks to determine coverage acceptance, pricing, and profitability based on guidelines and exposures. Location: Remote United States. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. ISC participates in the Federal E-Verify program.

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 USD

What you will do

  • Adhere to underwriting guidelines, execute pricing strategies, and use authority to accept, reject, or mitigate risks.
  • Approve/decline applications within limits, issue coverage, and prepare referrals for higher risks.
  • Document underwriting files with risk analysis and pricing justification per standards.
  • Utilize databases and software to verify data, compare risks, and ensure accurate pricing.
  • Provide recommendations to clients to reduce excessive risk exposure.
  • Collaborate with underwriting team and respond to customer needs for efficient application processing through policy issuance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of workers compensation underwriting or related insurance experience required.
  • Strong customer service experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn industry-specific software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, embrace change, and pivot to shifting priorities.

  • CPCU, CIC, CRIS, Property & Casualty Brokers License, etc.
