TL;DR

Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter (Insurance): Market new and renewal commercial property & casualty accounts with an accent on risk evaluation, decision-making, and carrier negotiations. Focus on underwriting moderate books of business with complex risk profiles, ensuring compliance and optimal pricing outcomes.

Hybrid: 3-4 days per week in office in New York City. Must be located within a commutable distance to New York City.

Salary: $85,000 - $115,000 Annual

• Evaluate underwriting information to determine risk acceptability per company guidelines.
• Make decisions on underwriting and pricing, negotiating with carriers for optimal outcomes.
• Document decisions in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Underwrite a moderate book of business featuring moderate to complex risks.
• Provide outstanding customer service with urgency on all inquiries.

Requirements

• Associate Degree or higher plus 5+ years of relevant commercial Property & Casualty underwriting experience (additional 2 years experience may substitute for degree).
• Excess and Surplus Lines experience highly preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Mandarin) strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react quickly, think creatively, analytically, and solve problems innovatively.
