Engineering Manager (AI/Developer Tools): Leading the Code Plane team to build execution layers and MCP servers for AI-driven coding agents with an accent on large-scale code transformations and agent-human workflows. Location: Remote (Global). Working hours must overlap with EST for at least 20 hours/week.

Salary: $144,000 – $192,000 USD base

What you will do

• Lead the Code Plane team, overseeing products like Batch Changes, MCP Server, and the src CLI tool.
• Manage a small team of engineers as a player-coach, contributing as an IC up to 50% of the time.
• Own the team's roadmap and execution, translating customer pain and feedback into shipped product features.
• Establish a culture of effective planning, code review, and decision-making practices.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to build tools that empower both humans and AI agents.
• Proactively manage performance, cultivating top performers and raising the hiring bar.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience managing professional software engineering teams through full performance cycles.
• Strong individual contributor background with the ability to provide technical guidance on architecture and quality.
• Proven experience leading teams that build developer tools, AI/agent products, or CLIs.
• Fluency in Go, TypeScript/React, GraphQL APIs, PostgreSQL, and Docker/Kubernetes.
• Ability to overlap with EST time zone for at least 20 hours per week.
• Experience working in a globally distributed, async-first remote environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with code intelligence, code search, or large-scale code transformation products.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting, or "signals over code" products (e.g., security scanners, lint platforms).
• Experience designing and shipping CLIs optimized for both humans and AI agents.
