TL;DR

Team Leader, Engineering (Performance & DX): Leading the Boost team to optimize user-facing performance and developer productivity with an accent on tooling, infrastructure, and best practices. Focus on shrinking developer feedback loops, managing large-scale codebase migrations, and establishing measurable quality gates.

Location: Must be based in the USA (Remote or Hybrid in San Francisco, Washington D.C., or New York City)

Salary: $150,000 - $200,000/year + bonus

What you will do

  • Lead the Boost team by triaging performance and productivity issues and deciding where to invest technical efforts.
  • Own the engineering roadmap by sourcing internal feedback and partnering with Group Directors and product engineering.
  • Drive projects to conclusion by clearing blockers and maintaining a high bar for delivery.
  • Support team growth through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and individualized growth plans.
  • Champion DX and UX by optimizing developer feedback loops and sponsoring architectural changes.
  • Establish measurable practices for client rendering, server latency, and CI through automation and quality gates.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience shipping production systems.
  • Proven track record of leading senior ICs and setting technical direction.
  • Technical proficiency in Node/TypeScript, React, React Native, GraphQL, and Postgres.
  • Ability to manage large-scale codebase migrations and break massive changes into incremental steps.
  • Must be based in the USA.

Nice to have

  • Experience with APM tools, GitHub Actions, or E2E testing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of mobile build toolchains and pnpm workspaces.
  • Experience with large-scale TypeScript and GraphQL stacks.
  • Background in FinTech or consumer applications.
