What you will do

  • Draft and prosecute patents across various technical areas within the quantum domain.
  • Collaborate with internal inventors and technical experts to identify and assess valuable innovations.
  • Coordinate with external counsel and provide IP education and guidance to internal stakeholders.
  • Manage and continuously improve the global IP portfolio to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Develop deep expertise in the quantum technology landscape and stay current with IP best practices.
  • Independently balance a varied workload, proposing solutions to challenges and escalating when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in physics, math, computing science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution before the Patent Office.
  • Must be based in Canada.
  • Registration as a Canadian Patent Agent (or equivalent) is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to solve complex problems with sound judgment.
  • Effective communication skills adaptive to both technical and legal audiences.
