Senior Autonomy System Designer (AI)

Senior Autonomy System Designer (AI/Robotics): Designing and executing advanced robotic and autonomous systems for heavy equipment with an accent on system architecture, software integration, and validation. Location: Must be based onsite in Laval, QC, Canada (5 days a week)

Salary: $122,200 - $152,760

What you will do

• Translate business requirements into end-to-end robotics system designs and architectures.
• Lead the development, implementation, and release of scalable autonomy solutions.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies including AI/ML, connectivity, and sensing.
• Guide engineering teams through complex software challenges and system trade-offs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and market needs.
• Coach engineers to foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering.
• Fluency in English and French (written and spoken) preferred.
• Expertise in software product design and artificial intelligence methodologies.
• Must be based onsite at the Laval, QC office.
• No visa sponsorship available for this position.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAN bus, J1939 protocols, and Linux for embedded systems.
• Proficiency in Python for prototyping, test automation, and data analysis.
• Knowledge of GPS, Wi-Fi, and network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP/IP, SSL).
• Practical experience in AI perception, localization, and path planning.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated testing frameworks in Agile environments.
