What you will do

• Design and implement backend systems, APIs, and services for identity and authorization in AI agent workflows.
• Own features end-to-end from technical design through production, focusing on reliability, security, and developer experience.
• Build integrations enabling agents to securely acquire, use, and scope access credentials.
• Contribute to system design, make tradeoffs, and define patterns for unsolved problems like agent identity and trust boundaries.
• Instrument and monitor production systems for observability and operational health.
• Collaborate with product, security, and platform partners to integrate with the Auth0 platform and provide code reviews.

Requirements

• Proven experience designing and shipping production-grade backend systems: APIs, services, and integrations at scale.
• Strong foundation in backend languages (Node.js/TypeScript, Go, Python or similar); REST and event-driven API patterns.
• Experience in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
• Security-conscious mindset for credentials, trust, and integration boundaries.
• Strong system design skills and collaborative communication.
• Comfort in product engineering serving real customers.

Nice to have

• Experience with identity systems (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, FAPI, token-based access).
• Familiarity with AI agent frameworks, orchestration, or Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Exposure to agentic patterns: tool use, multi-step workflows, agent communication.
• Containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes) and cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Developer-facing APIs, SDKs, or integrations.
• Open-source contributions in identity, security, or AI.
