Location: Hybrid (Office-First). Must be based in Vancouver, Toronto, or London. Office attendance required on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Salary: CA$140K – CA$196K + Equity

What you will do

• Build and ship backend systems for agentic workflows, including retrieval pipelines and orchestration layers.
• Optimize LLM-powered workflows through prompt design, caching, and latency reduction to improve response reliability.
• Develop and operate automated and human-in-the-loop evaluation frameworks to measure agent quality and success at scale.
• Prototype feedback mechanisms and correction loops to ensure AI agents remain accurate and trusted.
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and data teams to align technical architecture with customer outcomes.
• Evaluate and integrate the latest advances in LLMs and retrieval architectures into production.

Requirements

• Experience building production backend systems, specifically in search/retrieval, data pipelines, or distributed systems.
• Proven experience building or evaluating agentic/LLM-powered systems (RAG, multi-step workflows).
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with proficiency in Python and backend frameworks.
• Familiarity with search and vector databases such as PGVector, Pinecone, or Elasticsearch.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) handling large data volumes and low-latency requirements.
• Must be located in one of the hiring hubs: Vancouver, Toronto, or London.

Nice to have

• Experience designing complex multi-agent systems or orchestration workflows.
• Contributions to AI/ML open-source projects.
• Strong knowledge of ML fundamentals (precision, recall, bias-variance tradeoff).
• Interest in sharing technical findings through blogs or public talks.
