What you will do

• Act as primary go-to counsel for the marketing organization.
• Partner with marketing, brand, communications, product marketing, growth, creative, performance, and events teams on campaigns across digital, print, social, influencer, email, and events channels.
• Advise on advertising, consumer protection, endorsements, promotions, contests, claims, IP, privacy, and marketing-related regulatory issues including FTC, state UDAP, CAN-SPAM, TCPA, and EU/UK standards.
• Review and approve marketing claims, campaign materials, creative concepts, product launch assets, and brand initiatives in a practical, business-oriented way.
• Develop strategies and processes for scaling flexible legal solutions that address risk.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience with a mix of in-house and technology-focused law firm roles
• Understand the letter of the law and approach problems practically and principled
• Develop systems and mechanisms to work at scale
• Build cross-functional relationships with marketing, creative, communications, and product teams
• JD and license or qualification to practice in CA
• Strong sense of ownership, inquisitive about technology, sound judgment in ambiguous situations
