Salary: $349K – $475K + Equity

What you will do

• Lead and manage the product counsel team, shaping the long-term strategy and priorities of the function.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to advise on feature launches and manage regulatory risks.
• Develop scalable legal infrastructure, including playbooks, risk frameworks, and templates.
• Identify and resolve legal issues related to privacy, data security, consumer protection, and intermediary liability.
• Monitor and implement global regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, EU Digital Services Act, and EU AI Act.
• Advise on emerging technology areas, including AI, machine learning, and generative content.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.
• 12+ years of legal experience advising on product and technology matters in top-tier firms or in-house.
• Deep expertise in privacy, consumer protection, IP, and AI/ML governance.
• Proven experience scaling legal processes and building playbooks in high-velocity environments.
• Experienced people manager with a track record of leading a technology law function.
• Must be based in the US within commuting distance of SF, LA, NY, or Seattle hubs.

Nice to have

• Experience at a consumer marketplace, e-commerce, or live streaming company.
• Working knowledge of international regulations (EU DSA, DMA, and AI Act).
• Familiarity with fintech or payments regulation in a marketplace context.
• Experience engaging with regulators or government agencies.
