What you will do

• Lead the AI legal program, focusing on training data sourcing, licensing, and global AI regulation compliance.
• Act as the embedded legal partner for product management, engineering, and AI/ML teams across the development lifecycle.
• Draft and negotiate complex technology agreements, including software licenses and strategic partnerships.
• Lead IP and product counsel workstreams for M&A transactions, including due diligence and risk assessment.
• Oversee export control compliance and encryption classification for software products.
• Develop and deliver legal training on AI governance, IP, and technology law to internal teams.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and good standing with at least one State Bar.
• Must be based in the USA.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in law firm or in-house roles, with significant experience in IP and technology transactions.
• Deep technical fluency in AI/ML systems and experience with AI governance frameworks (e.g., EU AI Act).
• Engineering or other relevant technical degree.
• Proven leadership capability to influence at the executive level.
