What you will do

• Obtain blood specimens by performing venipunctures and finger sticks while maintaining specimen integrity through aseptic techniques.
• Verify test requisitions and patient identification to ensure accuracy and resolve unusual orders with physicians or laboratories.
• Maintain quality results by following department procedures and recording data in the quality-control log.
• Manage logistical tasks, including printing patient reports and scheduling courier services via FedEx or Medspeed.
• Handle billing question answering, triaging, and follow-up with patients.
• Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by complying with legal regulations and hospital standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy Certificate if required by State.
• Ability to adhere to professional standards, hospital policies, and JCAHO standards.
• BS/BA degree preferred.
