Network Specialist

TL;DR

Network Specialist: Monitor network administration and maintenance operations, manage the design evolution of existing operational networks, and resolve network incidents to ensure smooth running. Focus on support for communication systems including Joint Network Node (JNN), Satellite Transportable Terminal (STT), Regional Hub Node (RHN), Soldier Network Extension (SNE), and Tactical Communications Node (TCN).

Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, US (Remote with possible occasions for in-person work at Booz Allen or customer facility)

Salary: $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD)

What you will do

• Monitor network administration and maintenance operations
• Manage design evolution of operational networks and resolve incidents
• Develop innovative solutions to complex problems using advanced consulting skills
• Work independently and mentor/supervise team members
• Provide support to communication systems like JNN, STT, RHN, SNE, and TCN

Requirements

• Secret clearance required
• Experience with configuration of commercial IP routers and ethernet switches
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS, and HAIPEs
• Experience with cloud technologies, data center networks, SDN, or NFV
• Experience with network modeling tools like OPNET, Riverbed Modeler, EXata, and Wireshark
• Knowledge of wireless/SATCOM networks, TCP/IP, MPLS, DNS, SNMP, NTP/PTP
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Electrical Engineering, IT, or Information Systems

Nice to have

• Experience with DoD network architectures and technologies
• Experience in experimentation, prototyping, and piloting
• Experience assessing customer needs and proposing technical solutions
• Ability to engineer communication solutions for stressed environments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Security+, or CISSP Certification
