TL;DR

Fuel Systems Virtual Integration Engineer (CAE/Automotive): Driving the design, integration, and validation of next-generation fuel systems using high-fidelity multi-physics simulations with an accent on connecting component-level physics to full-vehicle performance. Focus on developing advanced simulation methodologies, automation tools, and data-driven workflows to enhance system reliability and accuracy.

Location: Hybrid in Warren, Michigan (reporting to office at least 3 times a week). Must be based in the US; no immigration sponsorship provided.

What you will do

  • Perform structural and CFD simulations for fuel system design, development, and validation.
  • Collaborate with Product Development (PDT) and Vehicle Performance Integration (VPIT) teams to generate actionable design recommendations.
  • Lead the development of new virtual test and validation methods in collaboration with global engineering teams.
  • Manage the CAE portion of Analysis, Development, and Validation plans and produce detailed engineering reports.
  • Oversee integrated supplier CAE activities and provide technical direction to ensure system requirements are balanced and met.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical or Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in CAE and multi-physics simulations.
  • Proficiency in Star CCM+ for fluid flow prediction and ABAQUS for nonlinear geometries and materials.
  • Familiarity with CAE tools such as LS-Dyna, SimSolid, or OptiStruct.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without current or future immigration sponsorship (H1-B, OPT, STEM OPT, etc.).

Nice to have

  • MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Knowledge of fuel system production manufacturing processes (casting, forging, machining).
  • Familiarity with UG-NX CAD/CAE tools and MATLAB.
  • DFSS Black Belt Certification.
