Salary: $36.50/hour for Histotechnologist II; $40.00/hour for Histotechnologist III.

What you will do

• Prepare unstained and hematoxylin and eosin stained slides from formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue blocks.
• Determine block orientation, alignment, knife angles, and equipment settings to produce representative sections.
• Cut frozen sections with a cryostat and stain samples for pathologist review.
• Collaborate with pathologists, laboratory coordinators, and histology colleagues on slide quality and daily deadlines.
• Track completed work in a custom Laboratory Information Management System and maintain equipment records.
• Identify, document, and escalate issues involving instruments, samples, workflows, or laboratory operations.

Requirements

• ASCP HT or HTL certification required.
• Associate or bachelor's degree required.
• Previous histology experience required.
• Knowledge of CAP regulations and pathology laboratory SOPs and protocols.
• Laboratory safety knowledge, problem-solving ability, and strong communication and organizational skills.
