TL;DR
Privacy Counsel, Americas (Fintech): Support implementation and adaptation of global privacy framework across US, Brazil, and Canada with an accent on compliance with US federal/state laws (CCPA/CPRA, GLBA, FCRA), Canadian (PIPEDA, Quebec Law 25), and Brazilian (LGPD) regulations. Focus on conducting privacy impact assessments, advising on cross-border data transfers, data subject rights, and breach response.
Location: Hybrid, New York, NY US bar admission required; expertise in US privacy laws essential. Willingness to work flexible hours across time zones.
Salary: $140,000 - $240,000 a year

What you will do
- Execute privacy strategy for Americas, ensuring compliance with regional laws including CCPA/CPRA, GLBA, FCRA, PIPEDA, Quebec Law 25, and LGPD.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments for new products, services, and initiatives.
- Provide business-focused advice on privacy matters, data subject rights, and vendor agreements.
- Support breach preparedness, incident response, notifications, and cross-border data transfers.
- Monitor regulatory developments and collaborate with global Privacy & DPO team.
- Develop privacy documentation and support audits/due diligence.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active bar admission in at least one US jurisdiction.
- 3-5+ years as privacy attorney with experience in GLBA, CCPA, state laws.
- Strong knowledge of US privacy laws; familiarity with Canadian/Brazilian laws.
- Experience with data subject rights, cross-border transfers, breach management.
- FinTech/payments sector experience preferred.
- Strong communication, project management, and analytical skills.
Nice to have
- Experience in global privacy teams across jurisdictions/time zones.
- Privacy certifications (CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT).
- Legal drafting for privacy policies, notices, DPAs.
