What you will do

• Lead the privacy legal function, advising Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams on GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and US state laws.
• Manage end-to-end privacy operations, including data mapping, ROPAs, DPIAs, and breach response.
• Build commercial privacy infrastructure, including DPA positions and negotiation playbooks for the sales team.
• Drive privacy-by-design and contribute to AI governance frameworks for the AI developer platform.
• Develop and operationalize internal policies on data minimization, retention, and classification.
• Manage external-facing privacy documentation, including privacy and cookie notices.

Requirements

• JD and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 8+ years of experience in both privacy legal counsel and privacy program operations.
• Hands-on operational experience with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and managing DSARs.
• Direct experience using enterprise privacy platforms such as Transcend, OneTrust, or Osano.
• Working knowledge of AI systems and data practices to advise on AI privacy governance.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience at a startup or pre-IPO company building privacy infrastructure.
• CIPP/E and/or CIPP/US certifications.
• Familiarity with the EU AI Act and emerging U.S. state AI laws.
• Experience in open-source, AI, or data science-oriented companies.
