Hardware Design Co-Op (Sept 2026 - 4 months)

TL;DR

Hardware Design Co-Op (Packet-Optical HW): Supporting hardware quality and life cycle management for Packet Optical platform products with an accent on component qualification, obsolescence mitigation, and prototype debugging. Focus on reviewing alternate components, executing verification plans, debugging prototype hardware, and investigating field issues using lab equipment.

Salary: $25.00-$34.00/hour

What you will do

• Review alternate components for 2nd source qualification and obsolescence mitigation.
• Execute hardware verification plans and debug prototype hardware using oscilloscopes, logic/network analyzers, and protocol generators.
• Debug and support hardware investigations of field issues.
• Modify circuit packs to enable testing or fix issues uncovered during testing.

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering program or equivalent.
• Familiarity with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, test sets) and measurement techniques.
• Understanding of high speed signaling, transmission lines, digital and analog design.

Nice to have

• Experience designing and debugging hardware.
• Experience with PCB schematic capture and layout tools.
