Focus on fault finding, welding, fabrication, upfitting vehicles, and training apprentices.

Salary: $7,057 - $7,567 CAD Monthly

University fleet management department maintaining over 500 vehicles and equipment for safe, efficient, and sustainable operations.

What you will do

• Overhaul engines and transmissions, diagnose electrical/electronic systems, rebuild parts, and modify components.
• Perform welding, lubrication, and maintenance on trucks, tractors, gardening equipment, and stationary generators.
• Conduct vehicle inspections per provincial standards, keep records in Planon, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Fabricate, upfit, and modify vehicles using sheet metal facilities.
• Train and monitor apprentices, instruct drivers on proper use, and respond to trouble calls and emergencies.
• Maintain tools, inventory parts, and provide repair estimates.

Requirements

• Trade certification as journeyperson Truck and Transport Mechanic (preferred) or Heavy-Duty Mechanic.
• Computerized engine management training and certification as Commercial/Private Vehicle Inspector.
• Valid BC Class 3 driver's license with air brakes endorsement, clean driver's abstract.
• Minimum 5 years related experience in advanced maintenance and repair.
• Experience maintaining EV, Hybrid, and CNG vehicles.
• Proficiency in MS Office; bring own tools; ability to work under pressure.
