Location: Hybrid (San Francisco); must be in person Tuesdays and Thursdays

What you will do
- Own the development, documentation, and ongoing refinement of core design system components, tokens, and patterns.
- Partner with product designers and engineers to ensure consistent system adoption and evolution.
- Identify and resolve design inconsistencies across the core app to drive a coherent product experience.
- Apply high-quality visual design craft to polish the system's execution and raise the quality bar.
- Prioritize effectively and make defensible decisions autonomously in a lean environment.
- Lead the integration of the design system with AI tools.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product or visual design experience.
- 2-3 years of focused design systems ownership, specifically building or evolving a system.
- Experience in small or mid-size companies managing systems with limited resources.
- Strong visual design skills in typography, color, iconography, spacing, and motion.
- Proficiency in Figma, including component architecture, variables, auto layout, and design token management.
- Proven track record of partnering with engineers to implement design systems in code.

- AI-native workflow: active use of AI tools to accelerate design processes.
- Experience as the primary owner of a design system rather than a contributor.
