What you will do

• Own and evolve the a16z design systems infrastructure, ensuring quality, consistency, and reach across the firm.
• Translate brand systems into scalable templates and modular frameworks across Figma, Google Workspace, Claude, and other core platforms.
• Build repeatable systems for high-volume design needs, such as presentations, social assets, and event materials.
• Develop high-functioning AI skills from scratch, including structured prompts and reference frameworks to produce on-brand outputs.
• Vibe-code lightweight custom apps and tools using AI models and APIs to solve specific design use cases.
• Collaborate with designers to distill complex visual systems into usable building blocks and train staff on new tools.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in brand design, design systems, or product design.
• Expert-level Figma skills, specifically in building and maintaining libraries and component structures.
• Deep command of visual identity, typography, and layout.
• Experience scaling AI skills and structuring markdown-based reference frameworks for AI outputs.
• Ability to vibe-code lightweight apps and generators for design automation.
• Must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area or New York City.
