FP&A Intern (Finance)

TL;DR

FP&A Intern (Finance): Supporting the corporate finance team with financial planning and analysis with an accent on modeling, reporting, and strategic thinking. Focus on preparing financial reporting packages, analyzing business insights, and streamlining FP&A workflows.

Location: Hybrid: Must be based in or able to commute to Menlo Park, CA (2–3 days per week on-site)

What you will do

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages, including detailed variance analysis of actuals versus budget.
• Analyze revenue, operating expenses, and headcount data to provide actionable business insights for senior leadership.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and data visualizations to track key financial and operational metrics.
• Perform ad hoc financial analyses and scenario modeling to support strategic business cases and initiatives.
• Identify and implement improvements for FP&A processes, templates, and workflows.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related analytical discipline.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically financial modeling, pivot tables, and formula-driven analysis.
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to distill complex financial data into concise summaries for non-finance audiences.
• Must be located in Menlo Park, CA for a hybrid work arrangement (2–3 days per week on-site).

Nice to have

• Experience with financial planning tools such as Adaptive Insights or Anaplan.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI.
• Knowledge of SQL.
