Software Engineering Manager (Medical Devices)

Location: Lafayette, Colorado, United States

Salary: $150,400–$225,600 USD per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of software engineers working on medical device applications, primarily desktop software with some mobile and web support.
• Oversee software updates for existing medical products, including design, development, verification, and quality assurance.
• Manage sprint backlogs, assignments, deliverables, scope, cost, schedules, and resourcing.
• Partner with R&D, quality, regulatory, marketing, and other stakeholders on product development and ongoing operations.
• Drive sustainable software development practices, process improvement, and technical capability growth.
• Coach, mentor, evaluate, and review engineers and testers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of customer-facing software product development experience and at least 5 years managing software development teams.
• Experience developing software with languages such as C++, C#, JavaScript, Dart, or Python.
• Strong knowledge of desktop application development and verification, with additional exposure to mobile and cloud development.
• Knowledge of SDLC methodologies including Agile, Scrum, and SAFe, plus strong project and organizational management skills.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is not available for roles below Principal level.

Nice to have

• Software development management experience in medical devices or another regulated industry.
• Experience with IEC 62304 and ISO 14971.
