Drafter CAD III (New Glenn)

TL;DR

Drafter CAD III (New Glenn): Design models, drawings, and configurations of launch vehicle hardware with a focus on propellant management & tunnel systems including secondary structures. Focus on maintaining high-level Stage 1 Tank assemblies, revising drawings based on engineering changes, and applying GD&T, tolerance stacks, and manufacturing standards.

Location: Greater Seattle Area. U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident (Green Card holder), refugee, or asylee required. Ability to travel up to 20% to suppliers and manufacturing facility in FL.

Compensation Range for WA applicants: $39.34 - $55.07 (hourly)

What you will do

• Maintain and revise released drawings based on engineering change requests.
• Balance tasks across Stage 1 Tanks products and maintain high-level assemblies, exporting data and automating tasks.
• Prepare design layouts and drawings, modify existing designs, and resolve discrepancies.
• Apply company and industry standards for detail, assembly, and installation drawings.
• Implement engineering and manufacturing standards balancing cost, schedule, and performance.
• Support product structure organization, develop drafting standards, and disposition emergent issues with design teams.

Requirements

• A.S. degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years designing/drafting aerospace, automotive, or equivalent structures
• Hands-on experience with hardware on production floor or in service
• Experience with Creo (Pro/Engineer) and Windchill (or equivalent)
• Strong 3D CAD skills for mechanical design and large assemblies
• GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5 etc.), standard fits, tolerance stacks
• PDM version control experience

• Designing for manufacturing and assembly
• Launch vehicle, spacecraft, or cryogenic structures experience
• Leading peer reviews, mentoring, driving CAD/PLM standards
