Director, Contracts (Government & Regulated): Own and manage high-volume, high-value contract pipeline across North America with an accent on AI-driven modernization, automation, and advanced contract lifecycle management systems. Focus on accelerating drafting, negotiation, risk mitigation, and execution while ensuring commercial soundness, legal compliance, and operational feasibility.

Location: Qualified candidates must live in the United States or the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. Remote - Canada - ON, Texas.

What you will do

• Own and manage 40–100 concurrent contracts valued at $100M–$1B+, maintaining pipeline visibility and progression from award to execution.
• Lead drafting, negotiation of MSAs, SOWs, amendments; shape pricing, timelines, performance obligations, and risk allocation.
• Implement AI-assisted drafting, redlining, risk flagging, predictive analysis, and CLM platforms to reduce cycle times.
• Ensure contracts protect financial, operational interests; establish governance for approvals, escalations, and compliance.
• Coordinate with stakeholders on terms, expectations, and regulatory alignment; build external client relationships.
• Lead and develop contracts team, elevating from administration to strategic advisory with scalable structures.

Requirements

• Live in the United States or Greater Toronto Area, Canada.
• 10+ years in contracts management, legal operations, or commercial negotiations.
• Proven ownership of large, complex, multi-year contracts with utilities, public agencies, state/federal government.
• Experience leading enterprise-scale contract pipelines and teams.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Authorized to work in the US or Canada without sponsorship.

Nice to have

• AI-enabled contracting tools, CLM platforms, or automation experience.
• Background in energy efficiency, clean energy, or regulated industries.
• Familiarity with federally funded programs.
• Experience in matrixed organizations or Salesforce.
