What you will do

  • Lead employee relations matters, including complaints, misconduct, communication conflicts, and policy violations.
  • Conduct workplace investigations, document findings, and recommend appropriate next steps in partnership with HR leadership.
  • Manage the 90-day review process for new hires, including tracking, manager follow-up, and employment decision support.
  • Partner with R&D and business managers on performance management, coaching, and PIP support.
  • Provide Spanish-language HR support, including policy explanation, investigation interviews, and issue resolution.
  • Coach managers on handling difficult employee conversations in a compliant and well-documented manner.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of HR experience with strong hands-on expertise in employee relations and workplace investigations.
  • Fluent or professional working proficiency in both English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work fully on-site in Manteno, IL, Monday through Friday.
  • Experience supporting technical, R&D, engineering, or cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of corrective action documentation and attendance management.

Nice to have

  • Experience in battery, EV, clean energy, automotive, or advanced manufacturing industries.
  • Knowledge of Illinois employment practices and general U.S. employment law.
  • Experience with HRIS, case tracking, and performance documentation systems.
