Senior Cost Accounting Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States. The role involves access to ITAR-controlled information and requires a U.S. person or eligibility for a federally issued export control license.

Salary: $140,000–$190,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Partner with manufacturing operations on cost performance, efficiency, profitability, production volume, capacity utilization, labor efficiency, and make-or-buy decisions.
• Own product costing, including bills of material, labor standards, overhead application, and variance analysis.
• Analyze labor, material, overhead, and yield variances and drive corrective actions with Operations.
• Manage manufacturing overhead pools, allocation bases, rates, periodic true-ups, and annual rate-setting processes.
• Lead manufacturing budgets, forecasts, long-range plans, and cost-driver analysis.
• Build cost models for new product introductions, pricing decisions, and program bids while partnering with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Product Management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, financial modeling, and forecasting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of GAAP accounting rules.
• Experience with complex account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis.
• Strong communication, leadership, organization, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Must be a U.S. person under ITAR or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export control license.

Nice to have

• MBA or professional certification such as CPA or CFA.
