Staff Cost Account Manager - Talon Program (Aerospace): Managing cost, schedule, and earned value performance for complex hypersonic aerospace development and test programs with an accent on control account planning, forecasting, and financial reporting. Location: Mojave, California, United States; domestic travel may be required.

Salary: $119,000–$172,000 annually, with eligibility for up to a 15% annual bonus.

What you will do

  • Own cost responsibilities for assigned control accounts and align cost, schedule, and technical scope with engineering and program leadership.
  • Develop and manage control account plans, work breakdown structures, baselines, resource allocations, and integrated cost/schedule plans.
  • Lead earned value management, variance analysis, estimate-to-complete revisions, forecasting, and monthly performance reporting.
  • Monitor actual costs, commitments, accruals, budgets, funding profiles, and revenue forecasts.
  • Support customer cost reviews, contract audits, negotiations, classified program cost operations, and risk mitigation planning.
  • Mentor cost analysts and early-career CAMs while improving cost-management tools and reporting practices.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in cost control, earned value management, financial planning and analysis, or program controls within aerospace, defense, or high-technology environments.
  • Experience managing complex development or test program budgets exceeding $30 million annually.
  • Strong knowledge of EVMS, WBS development, baseline planning, financial variance analysis, and technical cost forecasting.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and financial modeling; experience with EVMS or ERP tools such as COBRA, Empower, or Deltek.
  • Experience working with engineering, supply chain, and program management in a matrixed environment, with strong communication and executive briefing skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, plus the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Nice to have

  • Aerospace development, test operations, launch vehicle, aircraft operations, or hypersonic test experience.
  • Experience with government cost reporting such as CPR/IPMR or CFSR.
  • PMP, EVMP, or advanced cost management certification.
  • Experience supporting classified programs or secure environments.
