Principal Cost Account Manager (Talon Program)

Location: Mojave, California, United States; onsite role with domestic travel as required

Salary: $148,000–$203,000 base salary, plus eligibility for up to a 15% annual bonus.

What you will do

• Serve as the senior cost authority for major program segments and oversee cost performance across multiple control accounts.
• Own cost, schedule, and earned value performance for complex development, integration, and flight-test programs.
• Lead control account planning, baseline development, resource allocation, forecasting, trend analysis, and critical-path cost and schedule analysis.
• Prepare monthly performance reports, variance narratives, executive briefings, recovery plans, and long-term cost roadmaps.
• Improve EVMS tools, cost models, reporting infrastructure, governance, and portfolio-wide EVMS maturity.
• Support customer cost reviews, contract audits, negotiations, proposals, ROMs, BOEs, strategic pricing, and classified program cost operations.

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive experience in program controls, cost management, earned value management, or financial leadership in aerospace, defense, or high-technology fields.
• Experience managing cost performance for complex multidisciplinary programs exceeding $50M–$100M annually.
• Expert knowledge of EVMS principles, government reporting requirements, baseline planning, performance management, and long-term forecasting.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and EVMS or ERP tools such as COBRA, Empower, Deltek, or equivalent systems.
• Strong executive-level communication, briefing, analytical, strategic-thinking, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship may be required for some government-cleared or restricted positions.

Nice to have

• Aerospace development, flight-test, launch vehicle, aircraft integration, or hypersonic test operations experience.
• Experience with IPMR/CPR, CFSR, and other government reporting frameworks.
• PMP, EVMP, or advanced program and cost management certification.
• Experience supporting classified programs or secure environments.
