Senior Cost Accountant (Manufacturing)

Location: Boulder, Colorado, United States; onsite at the Boulder plant

Salary: $111,000–$130,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Report and analyze plant financial performance covering manufacturing costs, inventory, CAPEX, COGS, and production variances.
• Prepare monthly forecasts, annual budgets, standard cost updates, and variance commentary with plant and operations leadership.
• Lead month-end close activities, including inventory reconciliation, WIP review, production order settlement, and balance sheet account reconciliation.
• Maintain product costing data in SAP S/4HANA, including BOMs, routings, and cost center rates.
• Coordinate CAPEX requests, capitalization, depreciation tracking, post-implementation reviews, and ROI validation.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Finance on continuous improvement, reporting standardization, and process automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or an equivalent field.
• At least 5 years of manufacturing finance or cost accounting experience.
• Strong SAP experience with production orders, internal orders, and cost center accounting.
• Experience with financial forecasting, variance analysis, standard costing, and inventory control.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI or similar analytics tools.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to the site’s ITAR qualification status.

• Experience in discrete manufacturing or the high-tech optics industry.
