Research Integrity & Development Manager

TL;DR

Research Integrity & Development Manager (SSRN): Take ownership of research integrity at hirify.global’s preprint server during rapid growth, identifying and tackling low-quality, fake, or AI-generated submissions with an accent on policies, processes, and strategic initiatives. Focus on monitoring submission trends, strengthening screening workflows, and engaging communities in research integrity discussions.

Location: Oxford, United Kingdom (full-time onsite)

What you will do

• Monitor submission trends and identify low-quality or problematic content including fake submissions and papermill activity
• Detect and act on suspicious activity and fraudulent behavior
• Strengthen research integrity policies and processes
• Partner with Product, Tech, and Research Integrity teams to improve workflows and screening
• Provide reporting and insights for decision-making and act as point of contact for queries
• Support strategic initiatives like advisory boards, community engagement, and represent SSRN externally

Requirements

• Experience in academic publishing, research integrity, or related field (preferred)
• Understanding of peer review, publishing workflows, or ethical guidelines (e.g., COPE)
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
• Excellent organisation and stakeholder management skills
• Confident communicator able to engage internal and external audiences
• Proactive self-starter comfortable in fast-paced, matrix environment
