Technical Services Engineer (MongoDB)

TL;DR

Technical Services Engineer (hirify.global): Advising customers and solving complex hirify.global problems across database server, drivers, cloud, and infrastructure with an accent on architecture, performance, recovery, and security. Focus on troubleshooting mission-critical production systems, advocating for customer needs with product and development teams, and contributing to internal support tools development.

Location: Candidates must be based in Dublin for hybrid working model; first 3-6 months full in-office Monday-Friday, then permanent Wednesday-Sunday 9am-6pm with 3 in-office days (Saturdays/Sundays fully online)

What you will do

• Work with largest customers to resolve complex issues on architecture, performance, recovery, security, and scalability in hirify.global deployments
• Serve as expert on running hirify.global at scale and standard methodologies
• Advocate for customer needs by collaborating with product management and development teams
• Contribute to internal projects including software development for performance, benchmarking, and diagnostics tools
• Mentor and ramp new team members while building knowledge on new hirify.global product lines

Requirements

• Based in Dublin with strong Linux systems administration and troubleshooting skills (performance, memory, I/O, configuration, security, networking, clustering, storage)
• Good understanding of networking (DNS, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS) and experience with mission-critical production systems including database-backed applications
• Strong diagnostic skills across application tier, database, storage, and infrastructure; awareness of workload patterns for performance, availability, scalability
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Kubernetes orchestration, database administration (RDBMS/NoSQL, hirify.global preferred), backup/restore/disaster recovery
• Basic scripting/coding ability, excellent communication skills, patience, empathy, ability to stay calm under pressure and collaborate
• Strong learning agility to ramp quickly on new technologies

Nice to have

• Experience with hirify.global products (Atlas, Cloud Manager, Ops Manager, Compass, Kubernetes Operator)
• DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices; authentication systems (LDAP, Kerberos, Active Directory)
• Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, New Relic); managing large-scale databases
• Exposure to AI technologies like Vector Search; coding in Python, Go, Java, Ruby, C/C++
• Experience reproducing issues in test environments or supporting non-standard coverage

Hiring process

• Complete New Hire Training and hirify.global Certified DBA Associate exam within first 6 months
• Progress to frontline customer work by 6 months and independent technical escalations by 12 months
