What you will do
- Develop next-generation morphodynamic models by combining the ASMITA reduced complexity model with the process-based Delft3D model.
- Upgrade ASMITA software to incorporate multiple sediments, tidal divide exchange, salt marsh exchange, and river flow.
- Perform probabilistic simulations to predict the response of the Wadden Sea and Western Scheldt to sea-level rise and subsidence.
- Collaborate with Deltares to assess the impact of morphodynamic changes on ecology and flood safety.
- Conduct interdisciplinary research within the Coastal Engineering section using numerical modelling and field measurements.
Requirements
- PhD in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Marine Geology, Oceanography, Physical Geography, Physics, or Mathematics.
- Proven record of scholarly contributions via publications or software products.
- Proficiency in English (written and oral).
- Strong affinity and demonstrated interest in numerical model development and application.
- Ability to relocate to the Netherlands.
