Mechanical Engineer (Urban Mining)

What you will do

• Perform engineering calculations for mechanical equipment, including equipment sizing, structural checks, and throughput calculations.
• Select materials for abrasive, corrosive, and high-temperature operating environments.
• Prepare technical specifications and create/review technical documentation (datasheets, design reports, installation drawings).
• Contribute to the development of mineral separation plants and equipment, including shaking tables, vibrating screens, magnetic drum separators, eddy-current separators, trommel screens, conveyors, crushers, shredders, chutes, silos, and mechanical support structures.
• Collaborate with suppliers during design, procurement, and manufacturing phases.
• Provide mechanical support during construction, assembly, testing, and participate in FAT/SAT, technical reviews, and multidisciplinary design discussions.

Requirements

• Higher professional education in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience in similar or related roles (not suitable for junior/entry-level applicants).
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD and PDM software (preferred).
• Strong communication skills in English; Dutch proficiency is considered an advantage.
• Based in the Netherlands or holding a valid EU work permit.
